March 20, 2013

Had so much fun with the lads this weekend; Saturday at O’Byrne’s was packed. Georgia sat in with the Pure – great fiddling!
Sunday was at The Celtic Knot in St. Albert. Thanks to friends and family for filling the place!

Skied at Blackfoot yesterday with Paul & Mary Ann Vanderham. What a beautiful province we have. The snow was great.

Jay in Ireland 2012 – Day 23

November 6, 2012

Monday Nov 5, Castleisland. Back with Jackie & Annie O’Connor in Mullaghmarkey – it really is home to me. Lots of visiting, eating and playing of tunes between Jackie running out to tend to animals and Annie cooking up a storm. This house smells so gorgeous all the time. So I had 4 Mondays in Eire this trip and all of them were spent in Flanagan’s Bar, Brosna. So much fun and great tunes with Jakie, Terrance McQuin & myself. Also playing last night were Ned Casey:fiddle, and Michael O;Leary; box. Timmy O’Sullivan had me sing “Four Strong Winds”. How appropriate as I am soon leaving my beloved Eire ‘ “if our good times are all gone, then I’m Bound for moving on, I’ll look for you if I’m ever back this way.” Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
