His musical journey has included collaborations with many wonderful musicians and bands, including Cowboy Pride, Goldrush Trio,\u00a0 the Jay-Tones, Les Bucherons, Bill Bourne, Old Reliable, Frank Sklove. These days he plays mostly with his band <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/thepurecanada\">The Pure<\/a> and with Guitarist\/ Mandolinist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timruttermusic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tim Rutter.\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"CENTER\">Jay can be found playing around Edmonton at such locations as<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/67151180@N02\/6119483644\/\"> Fort Edmonton<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edmontonqueen.com\/index.php?area_id=1005\">The Edmonton River Queen<\/a> (for Maritime Night, with The Pure), CFB Edmonton, Elk Island National Park and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.obyrnes.com\/\">O&#8217;Byrnes Irish Pub.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">* Jay is a life long student of ethnic fiddle styles and is a diploma holder from GMCC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">* Jay is well versed in many ethnic styles including: M\u00e9tis, Irish, Ukrainian, Bluegrass, Gypsy and Swing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Jay taught the M\u00e9tis Fiddle Program at Ben Calf Robe for 12 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022<a href=\"http:\/\/edmontonjournal.com\/entertainment\/local-arts\/paula-simons-5\"> http:\/\/edmontonjournal.com\/entertainment\/local-arts\/paula-simons-5<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 As part of his lifelong endeavour to perfect Irish style fiddling Jay has travelled to Ireland 21 times.<\/p>\n<p>* Jay has self-published 8 collections of music. These include volumes 1-5 \u201cWorld music primer\u201c and \u201cLet\u2019s dance: Ukrainian dance music of East Central Alberta volume 1\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Look for Volume 2 of this endeavour in 2027<\/p>\n<p>* Jay runs a weekly Irish Session every Sunday at the Nonsuch.
